En plein air

Tempted by the twists and shapes formed by coil of wire and a tennis ball in a doorway, my companion persuaded me that wasn’t the subject for an oil painting.  For once, I conformed and painted the view.  The result was two intriguingly contrasting impressions of roughly the same barnyard corner painted simultaneously by two different people.  While I skulked in the shade with my easel, contemplating the darker mysteries of gnarled ivy and haphazard timbers (see below), Amanda painted the sunny picture you will see by following this link.  As for that coil of wire...
